The Australian Leisure Facilities Association Queensland is delighted to be supporting The Big Splash, a Life’s Little Treasures Foundation event in which toddlers and young children are sponsored to splash like Peppa Pig! The Big Splash provides a perfect way to engage young families with your centre and delight your preschool swimming students, as well as supporting a great cause.Between 1st of March and 30th of April 2014, children around the country will be making as much splash as they can in 5 minutes. It’s a fun and educational event aimed at increasing the confidence of preschool children in and around water, while raising vital funds for families of premature and sick babies. We encourage your aqua centre or swim school to get involved by hosting your own Big Splash event. Taking part is easy. All it takes is these simple steps:
- Plan your Big Splash at any time during March & April. For swim schools, we suggest hosting an event in the last week of the first swimming term.
- Go online to www.thebigsplash.org.au (follow link to “aqua centres & swim schools”) to register your Big Splash event and download a Big Splash pack. The pack includes promotional materials – see image below
- Use the materials to help promote your event to preschoolers and their parents. The materials will direct them to www.thebigsplash.org.au, where they can register for your Big Splash event and start fundraising for Life’s Little Treasures.
- If you require any assistance in setting up your Big Splash event online please feel free to contact Life’s Little Treasures Foundation on 1300 697 736.
Ready, Set, Splash like Peppa!
