Sunshine Coast Regional Council has recently made the decision to call for tenders for the management of Coolum and Kawana Aquatic Centres. Potential tenderers will have the option to tender for management of one or both of these centres. The tenure term will be three years with an option to extend for a further two by 12 month periods.
Pre tender inspections are set for 23 July at 10 am for Kawana Aquatic Centre and 12 noon for Coolum Peregian Aquatic Centre.

Council invites tenders for the management and operation of the Kawana Aquatic Centre
This service contract will be for an initial period of three (3) years, with the option to extend for a further two (2) by twelve (12) month periods, at Council’s sole discretion.
The Kawana Aquatic Centre is located at 45 Sportsman’s Parade Bokarina 4575. The facility includes a 10 lane heated 50m metre pool (water polo compliant), 6 lane heated 25 metre pool, heated diving pool with 3 diving boards and platform, heated program pools as well as a toddler leisure water area, amenities block and crèche.
The Sunshine Coast Aquatic Plan 2011 – 2026, designates this facility as the future regional aquatic centre within the Sunshine Coast Aquatic network.
Maximum general admission fees and charges are established by Council. Utilities such as water, electricity and chemicals can be provided at Council rates. Offers are to be submitted in the form of contribution to operational costs (mandatory), management rental / subsidy or a combination of both .It is Council’s aim and preference that existing staff of the Kawana Aquatic Centre will transfer to the new provider. Council will transfer existing accrued entitlements including pro-rata long service leave for staff who transfer to the new employer with at least 5 years’ service.

The Coolum-Peregian Aquatic Centre is located at 1946-1974 David Low Way Coolum Beach. The facility includes an eight lane 25m heated lap pool and a 12.5m x 5m heated indoor program pool associated amenities and reception. Council currently operate the facility.

Offers are to be submitted in the form of contribution to operational/utility costs (mandatory), management rental / subsidy or a combination of both.
It is Council’s aim and preference that existing staff of the Coolum-Peregian Aquatic Centre will transfer to the new provider.
